Things To Do

Playa del Carmen
When you are not soaking up the sun on the beach, you may want to visit some of the local shops on the famed “5th Avenue”, indulge yourself in Playa’s many restaurants and step into the nightlife at clubs like Blue Parrot, Coco Maya, Bali and La Santanera.

Tulum
Tulum is located about an hour south of PDC. It is easily accessible by collectivo which is a very inexpensive means of transportation. The Tulum ruins are situated on one of the most pristine, turquoise, white sand beaches you will find anywhere. The mayan ruins at Tulum on water’s edge are simply breathtaking. After a visit to the ruins, you can stretch out under a palm tree at Parasio beach close by and dine at one of the many seaside restaurants. All of this makes for a very memorable day.

Isla Mujeres (Island of Ladies)
This is an island located off Cancun. It is a great trip over by ferry and once there, you can shop, swim, snorkel, explore by foot or golf cart and on a clear day, you may even see Cuba. On the ferry over you may see turtles and dolphins following the boat, which make for a spectacular day.

Akumal
About a half hour south of Playa del Carmen by collectivo, Akumal is nestled in a lagoon with beautiful white beaches and crystal clear blue waters. Snorkelers usually see many sea turtles, HUGE schools of fish, barracudas and sting rays. Akumal is a small village with some beach side restaurants and shops.

Cozumel
Cozumel is a 25 minute ferry ride from PDC. The ferry leaves from the pier in PDC. Once on Cozumel there is plenty to do. Snorkeling and scuba diving are the fare of the day. Other features of this majestic island are to rent an ATV, scooter or car to explore the island. Many restaurants and shops await you in San Pedro where the ferry docks.

Chitchen Itza
Chitchen Itza has just been named one of the New 7 Wonders of The World, paralleling it with such sites as the Egyptian Pyramids. Chichen Itza is an ancient Mayan city with much history and technology. Many tourists say this day trip is not to be missed.
